We have photographed at other captive animal facilities in the past, but no place compares with Minnesota Wildlife Connection.  Lee and McKenzie have the best habitats and the best animals.  You can tell the animals love and respect them, and that they are never mistreated.

My husband (nature photographer James Gary Hines II) and I (I am a painter) have given several workshops at Minnesota Wildlife for artists to learn how to photograph animals with natural behavior in natural settings. We have been to many other places and have to say that Lee and his daughter McKenzie are the best. Not only do they obviously love the animals and what they do, but work VERY hard to give unique and interesting locations and interactions. We highly recommend them.

My son Ben (age 15 now) and I have been to two workshops with Lee and Mackenzie at Minnesota Wildlife Connection.  We are HOOKED!  The photos ALWAYS turn out amazing!  Lee and Mackenzie are great to work with – they always make sure we get the images we are looking for.  The animals are so well cared for and in tip top condition in coat and in spirit!  What a great place to get outstanding wildlife shots!  Of course – we will be back!!!

Several of my friends from the North Central Camera Club Council, a group that encompasses ten states and 1,500 photographers  had gone to Minnesota Wildlife Connection in Sandstone, MN and come back with truly amazing images so I put it on my bucket list.

My first visit was in May of 2014. Over three days I witnessed Lee Greenly, his daughter, and a volunteer work non-stop in caring for these animals.  The animals are given names and treated much the same as one’s own pets only there are lots more of them than any of us would have and require a heck of a lot more work!  I can honestly say it is some of the most fun I’ve ever had with a camera in my hand and I can’t wait to go back!

Photographing baby animals at the Minnesota Wildlife Connection Inc was a unique and very satisfying experience. I was able to capture wonderful images of the animals in their natural habitats while they exhibited typical wild behaviors. And I felt completely safe thanks to the watchful eyes of the staff.

We have had both the pleasure and privilege of visiting Minnesota Wildlife Connection Inc. five times over the past three years. Our experience has been one of awe as we have been able to view these beautiful animals, learn about them as well as photograph them. Our viewing options have included difficult to see animals such as wolves, fox, lynx, bobcat, coyote, black bear, woodchucks, deer, raccoon, and fisher; all in natural settings. We highly recommend visiting during each of the seasons if you are looking for a truly unique experience.

For lovers of wildlife, spending time at the Minnesota Wildlife Connection will give you a most amazing experience. We are thankful and grateful to have had these opportunities.

I was able to attend a photo workshop at Minnesota Wildlife Connection Inc. for the first time, and it exceeded my expectations. The animals we photographed were so beautiful, and their surroundings made it look as if we were photographing them in the wild. Lee and McKenzie were very kind and generous people to work with, and I would highly recommend a trip here if you want an experience to remember.

As a professional wildlife artist one of the most challenging aspects of my work is getting good photos to use as references for my paintings.Working with Minnesota Wildlife Connection Inc. provided me with more great photos than I ever imagined was possible. Not only were the animals healthy and very well cared for but the many acres of natural habitat we were able to photograph them in made the photos truly stunning. In addition, working with Lee and Mckenzie was a real pleasure. They were professional, accommodating and made the entire experience one I will treasure forever.

Vic Sharratt arranged the trip for us and it turned out to be one of the best we have been on. Animals well organised by Lee and daughter, McKenzie, to get the best shots with minimum of fuss.

Will be working on the photographs from the visit in my England studio for many months to come. Thanks for a great American welcome.
